Madison Prewett of The Bachelor reveals the story of the proposal.

Prewett and Troutt got engaged before spending a year together. They started dating in December last year. In May, the Bachelor star opened up about their romance on Instagram, introducing Troutt as “the realist G in town.” On the announcement of the couple’s engagement, there are several photos from the proposal with the inscription:

“You were definitely worth the wait.”

Prewett told People magazine about her proposal day, saying:

“He was going to go with me and my friends to Florida, but he got sick and couldn’t travel. I switched us for a friend’s birthday party. I was told that we would take pictures for my birthday on the beach, and when I arrived, my best friend took me to the bathroom, where my mom and sisters were waiting for me with the dress I wanted to propose in.”

Prewett knew then that Troutt was going to propose to her. The event took place on the beach in Palm Beach, Florida, at The Breakers Hotel.

She went on to say:

“I’ve been looking forward to this day all my life.” I’m overjoyed that it’s finally here. He is everything I wanted, what I longed for and imagined all my life. It was worth the wait.”

The reality TV personality also said that the couple will be hosting a small engagement party before wedding preparations begin. Their ideal wedding would be “chic and sophisticated,” she said. When she was cast as a coder on Peter Weber’s The Bachelor on ABC, Prewett’s name became a household name among Bachelor Nation viewers. In the season 24 conclusion, the protagonist chose Hannah Ann Sluss over Prewett, although their engagement was short-lived. He later began dating Prewett, but the two divorced last year.
