The Great British Sewing Bee star Patrick Grant shares incredible throwback snap to younger years – and he looks so different!

Patrick Grant is a familiar face on our screens thanks to his role as a judge on BBC One’s touching reality TV series, The Great British Bee.

The fashion designer is beloved by fans of the show and is easily recognized by his iconic mustache. But did you know that Patrick didn’t always have a beard?

In June, the businessman and TV personality shared a snap on Instagram ahead of a ’90s-themed challenge on the show, which aired earlier this week.

Patrick posted a photo from his days as a counselor at Camp Kennolyn in California in 1990. The snap shows the star as a fresh-faced teenager posing in a chic gown. as Captain Salt.

He wrote in the caption: “A few weeks until ’90s week at @britishsewingbee so I was asked to find a picture of myself in ’90s clothes. Here I am. 1990, @kennolyncamps Santa Cruz, CA.

“I’m Captain Salt, pictured with my nemesis the teenage mutant Ninja Banana Slug. I wish you all a very happy summer.”

Fans were quick to comment on the epic comeback, with one person writing: “You look great Patrick. Love the new #SewingBee series”, while another added: “Truly obsessed with it this picture.”

After Patrick’s time in the US as a camping consultant and ski instructor, he continued to work in marketing before finding a passion for fashion design at the University’s Saïd School of Business. Oxford, where he studied for an MBA.

While studying, Patrick came across a Financial Times in which the Grangers advertised the sale of Norton & Sons tailors.

After graduating from Oxford, Patrick acquired the company and through this acquisition acquired the rights to two more companies, E Tautz and Hammond & Co.

He has become an award-winning designer and has also founded a social enterprise, Community Clothing, in 2016 supporting UK textile businesses and the production of tailored clothing. Ethical at affordable prices.

When he’s not busy filming Great British tailor bee In Leeds, you can find Patrick at his home in Lancashire, near his factory in Blackburn.

The 51-year-old moves to the north-west London borough in 2020 to be closer to his factory.

As for his love life, Patrick is unmarried. The star likes to keep his romantic life out of the limelight so very little is known about his current relationship status.
