“The Last of Us” co-writer Neil Druckmann explains why Ashlee Johnson, who voices Ellie in the video game, is nervous about starring in the hit HBO adaptation. “Ashley is amazing and I have no doubt she’s going to be great because I’ve worked with her for so many years. This is the first time she’s done any of The Last of Us that I didn’t. directing, so before shooting she called me, she was worried, she said, ‘I don’t know what to do, wish you were here.

The addition of Anna helps highlight the moral complexity of Marlene and Joel’s decisions, showing how far both will go in pursuit of their goals. Not only does Anna make Ellie’s plot more tragic, but it also helps add nuance to Marlene and Joel and their relationship with Ramsey’s character. the last survivorThe ending presents a truly confusing moral dilemma with no easy answers.
