The Madison: All About the Yellowstone Spinoff Starring Michelle Pfeiffer

The Yellowstone the universe is expanding again.

Madisonthe latest spinoff from the hit Paramount series, has been confirmed for August 2024 after being previously named in 2024. While the spinoff was originally attached to Matthew McConaughey, Paramount has confirmed that Michelle Pfeiffer is attached to the project and will star.

According to the press release, The Madison will follow a New York family settling in central Montana’s Madison River Valley and will be “an honest study of grief and human connection.”

Although it is not clear whether The Madison will contain the same characters as Yellowstoneit is possible that they will appear, since the previous spinoffs mostly focused on the Dutton family.

The original series follows the Duttons, including Kevin Costner as John and Kelly Reilly as Beth, and their ownership of Montana’s largest ranch as they contend with drama from the neighboring Broken Rock Indian Reservation, Yellowstone National Park and developers.

Per The Hollywood Reporterwhen The Madison was first announced, it was supposed to take place after the events of Yellowstone.

The series was supposed to continue the Dutton family story by introducing new characters as well as keeping some old ones.

However, it is not known if it will follow an entirely new story.

Paramount Network has announced that Pfeiffer will star in the The Madison in August 2024 while also producing the series.

“Michelle Pfeiffer is an extraordinary talent who imbues every role with emotional depth, authenticity and grace,” Chris McCarthy, co-CEO of Paramount Global and president/CEO of Showtime & MTV Entertainment Studios, said in a statement.

“She is the perfect anchor for the latest chapter Yellowstone universe, Madisonfrom the brilliant mind of Taylor Sheridan,” he added.

Next week, Paramount Network confirmed that Patrick J. Adams, Elle Chapman, Beau Garrett and Amiah Miller will join the cast The Madison. Adams and Chapman will play the young married couple Russell and Paige McIntosh, who are wealthy New Yorkers, while Garrett will play Abigail Reese, a recently divorced mother of two. The following April, McCarthy confirmed that a spinoff would happen, although there was no word on whether McConaughey would join.

“Matthew and Taylor are fans of each other’s work and have discussed ways they could work together,” a source told PEOPLE at the time.

Since then, there has been no update on whether McConaughey will be cast.
