Morning show wants to give viewers an interview worth waking up for.
In PEOPLE’s exclusive sneak peek of Wednesday’s episode, Alex Levy (Jennifer Aniston) asks Paul Marks (Jon Hamm), whose company Hyperion wants to buy UBA, to do an interview on her show.
“I have a request,” Alex tells Paul as he enters her dressing room.
“Do you want to meet my favorite oligarch?” Paul answers.
After Alex says that she doesn’t really want to do that, she presents her question to Paul.
“I’d like to interview you,” Alex says. “I would love to have you on my show. I know, I know you don’t do interviews. I know. But people are skeptical. I think that’s a legitimate concern for shareholders, and this would be a nice opportunity to reel them in and show them why they should support this deal. I also think it would be a great opportunity for you.”

To Alex’s surprise, Paul agrees.
“I’m glad to be able to do that,” he says, adding: “So, without asking in advance, that kind of thing? That’s how your show works, right?”
Alex confirms that Paul won’t be given a list of interview questions before sitting down and assumes that will bother him. But Paul surprises her again.
“How’s Thursday?” he asks.

Alex can’t believe how quickly the tech mogul wants to do the interview, and Paul explains that he has a trip to Texas next week, so the sooner the better.
In last week’s episode, we learned that Paul and UBA News Department President Cory Ellison (Billy Crudup) met up in the Hamptons, where Cory recently bought a house.

It was also revealed that Bradley Jackson (Reese Witherspoon) took a video of her brother Hal (Joe Tippett) storming the Capitol on January 6, which she deleted before posting it online. Eventually the FBI asked for the tape, but Cory promised to make sure Bradley didn’t get in trouble.
