Sam Nivola asked Meghann Fahy for advice while waiting to sign up White lotus.
In an exclusive conversation with PEOPLE at Perfect Couple premiere in Los Angeles on Sept. 4, Nivola, 20, shared his excitement about his upcoming role on Mike White’s award-winning series and the words of wisdom he received from his co-star and White lotus alum.
“She just said to buckle up,” he said. “I mean, funny, I found out I got a part in White lotus on the last day of this shoot when we were shooting [a] dance sequence.”

When Nivola told Fahy the good news, he recalled that she was “so nice and congratulatory.”
“She told me about Mike White and what he was like, because of course every director has his own characteristics and ways of doing things,” he continued. “But basically all she said was that he’s really nice and you’re going to be treated really well and you’re going to have a good time and you’re going to look freaking great.”
3rd season White lotus it is planned to start production in the vicinity of Koh Samui, Phuket and Bangkok as the shop follows a new group of guests at another White Lotus property. HBO partnered with the Tourism Authority of Thailand to support the filming and promotion of the third installment.

While the plot has been kept under wraps, White has previously confirmed that the new season will look to Eastern spirituality and religion when he talks about each season’s themes during a featurette following the season two finale.
“The first season we highlighted the money, and then the second season is the sex, and I think the third season would be maybe a kind of satirical and funny look at death in Eastern religion and spirituality — it seems like it could be a rich tapestry to do another circle on White lotus“, he explained.

In addition to Nivola, the cast will include Leslie Bibb, Dom Hetrakul, Jason Isaacs, Michelle Monaghan, Parker Posey, Tayme Thapthimthong, Alton Goggins, Sarah Catherine Hook, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Aimee Lou Wood and BLACKPINK’s Lisa.
Natasha Rothwell, who played spa manager Belinda Lindsey, will also reprise her role in season three.
