All About Taylor Fritz's Son Jordan Fritz

Taylor Fritz may be one of the most successful American tennis players, but above all, he is the father of Jordan Fritz’s son.

The Breakpoint subject became a dad in January 2017 when he welcomed Jordan with his then-wife Raquel Pedraza. Taylor was a 19-year-old rising star in the tennis world at the time, and is now a 2024 US Open semifinalist.

Early on in his parenting journey, Pedrazi credited her for helping him balance sports and their family. “My life really hasn’t changed too much because of how my wife has really improved,” he said at a press conference after the championships in March 2017. “She really just does everything she can for me and for my tennis.”

However, the 2022 Indian Wells Masters winner has revealed a lot about himself through being a father. “I learned one thing, that I don’t care, and another thing, that I just do my job and be as productive as possible,” he told The ultimate life in August 2023.

Taylor continued: “I’ve got more things to deal with now and I’ve definitely had to grow up fast, but it’s always going to be like that anyway. I traveled the world at 17 to play tennis.”

Taylor married his high school sweetheart Pedraza — who was also a professional tennis player — in 2016. Interview magazine. In January 2017, they welcomed their first and only child together, Jordan.

The 2022 Wimbledon quarter-finalist quickly got back to work and relied heavily on Pedraza to take care of things at home.

“I feel like it’s the same with all the other guys my age,” he said at a press conference about how his peers treated him after he had a son.

Taylor added: “People may think that maybe I spend less time on the tennis court or less time in the gym and that’s perfectly fine.”

Jordan taught Taylor different lessons

Since becoming a father, Taylor has learned to better balance his personal and professional life.

“I mean [having a kid] it taught me a lot of lessons about time management,” he said The ultimate life. “I have to juggle all these different things.”

The athlete also learned an important lesson about confidence in himself and his choices.

“It also taught me not to care so much about other people’s opinions,” he said. “There was a lot of talk when I was younger. I was always very worried about how it would affect my career.”

His parents divorced when he was 2 years old

Taylor and Pedraza divorced in December 2019 Interview magazine. Jordan was 2 years old at the time, and although Pedraza was a professional tennis player in the past, she now lives a more private life with their son.

For her part, Taylor is dating Morgan Riddle, an influencer who uses her TikTok platform to “make tennis cool again.”

“It’s been great,” he told PEOPLE of their relationship in 2023. “I feel like we’re a team, and it’s been great to have.”

Jordan comes from a long line of athletes

There is a good chance that Jordan will one day follow in his father’s footsteps because he comes from a tennis family. In addition to Pedraza also being a player, both of Taylor’s parents — Kathy May and Guy Fritz — have experience as tennis professionals, according to Los Angeles Times.

Taylor’s mom was a former top 10 player and his dad teaches the sport after being on tour himself. Taylor’s uncle, Harry Fritz, was also a pro from Canada Montreal newspaper reported.

Taylor and Jordan make the most of their time together

His career as a tennis professional takes him all over the world, and unfortunately, he doesn’t always get to spend a lot of quality time with Jordan.

“I have a son that I don’t see as much as I’d like,” he said on Netflix Breakpoint series about tennis professionals. “As things stand, I just have to try to see him as much as possible.”

Still, Taylor is optimistic that one day his hard work and sacrifice will pay off, and his son will be there to witness the results. “I just hope that as he gets older, he understands what I’m doing and what I’m trying to do,” he said.

Even though he’s busy, it’s still important to Taylor to be there for the big moments, like Christmas. In 2020, he posted a sweet photo with Jordan on Instagram holding a freshly opened Hot Wheels set next to a pine tree.

“Merry Christmas everyone🎄🎁,” he captioned the photo. “I’m glad that I could spend it with my loved ones this year ❤️.”

He posted a similar clip in 2021, writing: “Merry Christmas from me and the big man.”

Jordan’s support for Taylor means a lot in the world

Taylor loves knowing his son is watching him play and supporting his passion. After the 2018 Indian Wells Open, he took it with him for a little socializing with the fans after the match.

“Teaching Jordan how to sign some autographs 🎾🖊😂,” he wrote next to a photo of him holding his boy as he signed a tennis ball. “A big thank you to my family for their massive support last week👪 🎾 loved having them at @bnpparibasopen ❤️.”

No wonder his son believes he is the greatest of all time. “When I told him I wasn’t the best tennis player in the world, he was a little surprised and a little disappointed that I wasn’t the best,” Taylor told Breakpoint.

He continued: »He is not easy to impress. I guess I just need to keep improving so that maybe at some point I can say, ‘Hey Jordan, I’m actually the best in the world.'”
