The Repair Shop’s Jay Blades sparks joy with behind-the-scenes photo from special episode

The Repair Shop crew have been busy filming the upcoming Christmas special this week and they seem to be having the best time in Chichester. Keeping fans updated on the festive episode, Jay Blades, 53, shared a snap of the Weald and Downland Living Museum on Friday, which has been completely transformed! With twinkling fairy lights, bright white snow and Christmas trees lined up out front, the barn never looked so beautiful.

Captioning the atmospheric shot, Jay wrote: “THOUGH OF THE DAY. If opportunity doesn’t knock, build a door. #dontletothersholdyouback.”

Inciting a reaction from his 160k followers, fans were left in awe of Jay’s post. “Wow, what a lovely photo of the @therepairshoptv barn, absolutely stunning and so true to today’s thought,” wrote one. “Ooo BEAUTIFUL!!! I love it,” added another. Meanwhile, a third wrote: “Great thought of the day Jay, thank you.”

Jay isn’t the first Repair Shop star to talk about the show’s Christmas special. Earlier this month, joinery restorer and fellow expert, Will Kirk, shared a selfie on his Instagram alongside Dominic Chine, teasing what’s to come.

Will wrote in the caption: “And just like that, Christmas is over before it’s even started. That’s the end of this year’s Christmas special. Can’t wait to see what it looks like later in the year. Well done team!”

Although few details have been released about the episode, as in previous years, the Christmas episode Repair shop was historically shown at some point in December. Last year’s special saw the experts make five holiday repairs, which included a damaged trombone, a damaged Christmas tree, an old projector, a worn-out Santa toy and a 1960s home bar previously used for Christmas parties. We can’t wait to see what they work on this year!
