The TikTok 'Table Pancake' Hack Forever Solves the Sweet or Savory Dilemma

If you’ve ever gone out to brunch, you’ve probably faced the dilemma of choosing between a sweet or savory dish. Thanks to a viral TikTok video, people have found a solution to this age-old struggle.

In the video, Rebecca, who goes by the username @phdinclothes, shares a video of herself sitting at a snack table. A TikTok video of her and the person across from her with their own savory dishes in front of them; meanwhile, in the middle of the table is a pancake covered in butter and syrup for them to share.

“This is a brunch hack guys,” she captioned the video, which later featured someone grabbing a hand to bury the sweet dish.

Since it was posted earlier this month, the video has gone viral, garnering more than 1.9 million views and nearly 1,000 comments. In the comments section, people quickly joined in the conversation and added that they were also following this snack hack.

“I thought my husband and I invented the table pancake! That’s absolutely the right move,” reads one comment.

“I always order a side of pancakes and share them with the whole table and no one ever realizes that I’m actually ordering pancakes for the table, because I know that’s what everyone wants, but they won’t say ๐Ÿ˜…,” writes another person.

Someone else says, “Oh, my friends and I make pancakes for the table! I’ve never seen anyone else talk about how great they are ๐Ÿฅž.”

In the comments, some users also offer their own renditions of how to settle the sweet vs. salty debate. One person said: “Alternatively, having a person who wants the same savory dish and the same sweet dish and you split the halves.”

“My family does this with french toast because there’s always some kind of delicious cream, but who can eat all that sugar for breakfast ๐Ÿ˜‚,” says someone else.

Another user adds, “My husband and I do this, except we ask them to line up the crepes while setting up the other food, so the crepe is like dessert when it comes.”

But for some, this brunch hack is brand new. “Today we were THRILLED ๐Ÿ˜ฑ”, it says on one account.

“I cried at breakfast with my husband last month because I couldn’t decide and this was an option the whole time?” someone else adds.

Another comment reads: “OH MY GOD, why did I never think of this?!”
