Jenna Ortega, Barry Keoghan and The Weeknd have been confirmed to appear in Trey Edward Shults’ upcoming project, according to Variety. Everything, including the film’s plot and location, is currently being kept under wraps.
Shults will direct from a script he co-wrote with performer and co-producer Reza Fahim. The Weeknd, Fahim, Kevin Turen and Harrison Kreiss will create the picture, with Schultz and Ortega serving as executive producers. The Weeknd has had the idea for a while and recently contacted Trey Edward Shults. The director agreed to work with him, and Ortega and Keoghan got the lead roles.

Abel Tesfaye, aka The Weeknd, will have her first lead role in Trey Edward Shults’ new film.
The Weeknd came up with the idea for the venture. When he and Reza Fahim were given the green light for the film, they started writing the script. While this will be his first acting debut, the Grammy Award-winner and Academy Award-nomination will also appear in HBO’s The Idol, which he co-created with Reza Fahim and author Sam Levinson of Euphoria.
The Weeknd also made a surprise appearance in Diamonds in the Rough as himself. He also appeared in American Dad and played a character in The Simpsons. Fourth, the Netflix series broke Ortega’s record, making her a celebrity. The show has achieved very high ratings and was recently renewed for a second season. He will appear in Scream VI and host Saturday Night Live on March 11.
Keoghan won a BAFTA award last week for his role in The Banshees of Inisherin. He’s also been nominated for an Academy Award and will appear in Saltburn, written and directed by Emerald Fennell. Trey Edward Shults is best known for directing and writing the television series Krisha, as well as the psychological thriller It Comes at Night and the television series Waves.
Shults and Abel also assembled a skilled team to achieve the best results. The director of photography is Chayse Irvin. Blonde, a 2022 American historical drama, is his most famous film. OPN, alias Daniel Lopatin, who worked on Good Time and Natural Pearls, will be composing the music with Save Your Tears. Filming for the film begins in February 2023, according to Hollywood. There is no official release date yet. It is expected to be released in mid-2024.
