The much-anticipated third season of Netflix’s The Witcher arrived on Thursday, and fans wasted no time watching new episodes.
The new film marks the last time Henry Cavill plays the monster hunter Geralt of Rivia before the actor hangs his sword forever, handing the role to Liam Hemsworth.

Season 3 begins with Geralt on a mission to protect Ciri, who is hiding from kings, mages, and beasts who want to capture her.
It’s safe to say that the opening episodes have caused quite a stir among fans of the series, with many taking to Twitter to praise the epic new season.
One person wrote: “Less than five minutes to season 3 and I’m already chilled,” while another added: “#HenryCavill has not disappointed in #TheWitcher season which is absolutely brilliant so far. , only in volume two.”

A third viewer tweeted: “Just watched the first episode of season 3 of #TheWitcher. This show is so well done; ready for the rest of the season!” while another fan agreed, commenting: “Just finished watching the first episode of #TheWitcher and felt like it was the best season. Other fans couldn’t help but mourn Henry’s departure from the show, with one person writing: “This is the last season I get to see Henry Cavill as #TheWitcher. I’m not fine,” while another said. tweeted: “If The Witcher season 3 has proven it all, it’s that this series would never have been the same without this man.”
A third praised the star’s performance in the opening episode, commenting: “The first scene from the first episode of season 3 showed Henry Cavill as the only Geralt possible, that battle was AMAZING #The Witcher.”

For those still watching Season 3, it follows Geralt as he leads Ciri into hiding, “determined to protect his newly reunited family from those who threaten to destroy it.”

Who will replace Henry Cavill in The Witcher?
Liam Hemsworth will take on the role of Geralt of Rivia from Henry Cavill.

Anya Chalotra, who plays Yennefer on the show, recently shared her thoughts on Liam joining the fourth series.
In an interview with Variety, the actress revealed that the cast didn’t know about Henry’s passing until the third season finished filming.

Expressing her sadness at the loss of her co-star, she said: “We’ve been through so many things together. It’s been 5 years not only in this world that we have in The Witcher, but also Covid – all these things. this we’ve been through together, and it’s a strong bond.
“But whatever we do, it ends. Henry is moving on, and it’s been really exciting. We’ve had five great years with him, and I’m excited about the new energy. .”
She went on to comment on Liam’s performance: “I’m sure Liam will be brilliant. I haven’t spoken to him yet – I’ve talked to him but I haven’t met him. So yeah , I’m very excited about it.”
