A monkey that has lived in a small cage between two buildings for 25 YEARS has finally been rescued.
Joe, a monkey, was found in a dark cage where he had lived for more than 20 years in Bangkok, Thailand.
Someone in town saw Joe in the cage and was concerned that he was injured, so they emailed Wildlife Friends of Thailand (WFFT) asking for help.
The team found the person who emailed them, which led them to Joe’s house, a small space between the walls of two buildings.
When Joe stepped out of the darkness and looked into the light, it was easy to see how many years he had passed.
Edwin Wiek, of WFFT, said: “I have witnessed a lot of animal suffering over the past 17 years, but the way the monkey is kept is probably in the «10» worst cases. best.
“Joe was dirty and very weak because his cage was so small he couldn’t walk or climb and almost all of his muscle tissue was gone.
