A spokesman told The Mirror: “Most of the complaints were about Alison Hammond’s comments about children not in school at the time of the broadcast being naughty.”

During the same segment This Morning was thrown into chaos after Alison’s phone went dead live on air.

Her co-host Dermot O’Leary was shocked to discover Alison had left her blower on set – and just moments later heard it ring.

He asked her, “Oh my God, didn’t you turn it off?”

Alison replied: “I turned it off, it wasn’t me… oh I was.

“I’m so sorry, it’s so unprofessional. I had it in airplane mode.”

It comes after it was revealed that Alison is reportedly in line to present For the Love of Dogs on ITV.

The programme, based at Battersea Dogs and Cats Home, first aired in 2012 and was hosted by the late Paul O’Grady until his tragic death last year.

A source told The Mirror: “Paul is obviously irreplaceable, but they believe that not only does Alison bring some of Paul’s self-deprecating humor to proceedings, she can make it her own, just like Paul did.”

They added: “Alison would be a great signing… and as her growing portfolio of shows shows, she’s capable of putting her hand to anything.”

The star also recently started presenting The Great British Bake Off alongside Noel Fielding.

Alison rose to fame in the third series of Big Brother in 2002.
