THIS morning chef Gino D’Acampo opened up about his 22-year marriage – admitting he sometimes lives the “single life”.
The Italian says the secret to staying together is spending time apart and talking to his wife Jessica for just “20 minutes a day” while he’s away.

Gino, 47, is even going on a solo holiday without his family – but has rubbished any claims that the time apart could lead to an affair.
“You have to balance your married life with your ‘single life,'” he says
“There is a time when the family is together, when I am with my wife and we all celebrate holidays together and everything like that.
“But there has to be a time when I do things by myself and when she does things by herself.

“I can be away for a month and I will talk to my wife once a week for about 20 minutes. Then when I come back we can talk about everything.
“Some of my friends talk to their wives for an hour and I’m like, ‘What the hell are you going to say to your wife for an hour every day that you can’t say when you’re live?'”
Gino also says he spends time with other women alone – taking them out for dinner and drinks.
He added: “Do you think I should organize a holiday if I wanted to be unfaithful to my wife?
“I can do it anytime, anywhere. So once you get that out of your head, going on vacation alone doesn’t matter anymore.”
Gino met Jessica when he was 18 and working at Sylvester Stallone’s Mambo King restaurant in Marbella, where she was a waitress.
They married seven years later, in 2002, but renewed their vows in 2021 on their anniversary.

The couple have three children, Luciana, 21, Rocco, 19, and Mia, 11.
Gino was a regular on This Morning when it was fronted by pals Holy Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, but he hadn’t been seen on it for months until recently.
After a long period of absence, he returned to the show this week and promised that his long-term relationship with him will continue.
He said: “Of course – This morning is my home! I know Ben [Shephard] and the Cat [Deeley] very good and whenever I have the chance I will always come back. I’ve also just finished filming This Morning in Tuscany and it’s been a lot of fun.”
Gino is currently using his profile as a celebrity chef to promote a campaign to help reduce the 8.2 million baskets of food – or 60,000 tonnes – thrown away annually in the UK.
Despite working in the food industry for decades, Gino was shocked to learn that £1,000 of food was wasted per household each year.
Now he wants to educate people on how they can reduce waste and save money at the same time.
“It’s so easy to buy without thinking,” he said. “If your dish only needs three carrots, then buy three carrots! Choose what you’re going to use, don’t just buy a big bag that’s likely to go to waste.”
