Tia Mowry Says She ‘Didn’t Realize’ Happiness Was a ‘Choice’ She Had Ahead of Cory Hardrict Divorce

Tia Mowry navigates life as a single mom in her new We TV series.

On Friday, September 20, We TV shared a first look at Mowry’s return to television with her brand new docuseries, Tia Mowry: My next act. In the 11-minute teaser, viewers see Sister, sister star, 46, who is adjusting to life after her divorce from ex-husband Cory Hardrict.

Mowry begins the clip in full mom mode, getting her daughter Cairo, 6, ready to be driven to Hardrict’s house.

“So it’s been about a year and a half since I got divorced and I’m slowly learning who I am,” Mowry says in a confessional scene.

She and Black divorce actor, 44, were married from 2008 to 2023. In addition to Cair, they also share son Cree, 13 — who Mowry says “didn’t feel comfortable” in front of the cameras.

“I came into this world with a twin,” she adds of her sister, Tamera Mowry, also 46. “And right after that, I went into a 22-year relationship, so I’ve never been alone in my life.”

After Tia is done rounding up Cair, they head to the car and Hardrict’s house – which means Game emotional star.

“I feel like one of the hardest things I’ve had to adjust to is leaving my kids with my dad. I always wanted the family dynamic of mom and dad in one household,” says a tearful Tia in her confessional. “And when you bring your kids, you actually see visually that it’s not like that anymore.”

Later in the teaser, Tia, who admits she’s not as close with her sister Tamera as she once was, talks to her friend Natasha Marc to discuss how her relationship is being portrayed in the media.

After speaking candidly with Marc about her “healing journey,” jerks the star comes to a realization.

“I feel that right now, yes, I’m vulnerable in my life, but this is the first time I actually realize that I have a choice,” Tia continues in her confessional. “I have the choice to say what I think. I have a choice to be me. I have a choice to be happy.”

Starting to cry, she adds: “Oh my God, I’m getting emotional. I didn’t know I had a choice before. I just didn’t.”
