In August 2021, when they were photographed holding hands while on vacation in the South of France, the duo stoked relationship rumours. They were seen making their way down to a fancy yacht, where they joined some friends.
Later, they were captured on camera sharing a kiss on the boat, as seen in photos obtained by The Daily Mail. The pricey yacht allegedly belonged to James Packer, a billionaire business associate of De Niro. Chen and De Niro were spotted leaving Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica in March 2023.
