Tiger Woods’ Daughter Sam, 16, Serves as His Caddie for First Time During PNC Championship Event

Tiger Woods is turning his latest golf tournament into a real family affair.

The 47-year-old, who is competing in the PNC Championship Pro-Am event at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club this weekend with his son Charlie, had someone special driving for him for the first time on Saturday — his daughter Sam.

In a video shared jointly on the PGA Tour and PNC Championship Instagram pages, the 16-year-old could be seen standing next to her father and talking to him as he cleaned one of his clubs.

Wearing the event’s official top with the name “Woods” emblazoned on the back, Sam — who Tiger shares with ex Elin Nordegren, along with Charlie, 14 — was pictured later watching the action as her father took a practice shot.

“For the first time, Sam Woods wears his dad today ❤,” the post caption read.

The weekend event brings together family members and marks the fourth year Tiger and Charlie have competed against golfer Justin Thomas and his father Mike.

Although it was Sam’s first time officially caddying for Tiger — she and Charlie have served nicely as child caddies in the past — her father encouraged the teenager to get involved in the sport from an early age.

A few weeks after Sam was born in 2007, Tiger revealed that he had already put a golf club in his daughter’s hands. “She couldn’t stand it. But it was there,” he said then.

Over the years, Sam and Charlie have supported their father at numerous golf tournaments, and although Tiger revealed in a 2018 interview Golf Digest that both of his children were “interested in football,” Sam was at the forefront when her father was to be honored at his World Golf Hall of Fame induction ceremony in Florida in March 2022.

“We didn’t know if you were going to come home with two legs or not,” she said during a speech at the event, referring to her father’s 2021 car accident that left him hospitalized.

“Now, not only are you going to be inducted into the Hall of Fame, but you’re standing here on your own two feet. That’s why you deserve this,” she continued. “You’re a fighter, you’ve defied the odds every time.”

Tiger and his son, meanwhile, also bonded this week. In addition to playing together in Saturday’s tournament, the father-son duo also spent time together during practice the day before.

After his son’s warm-up shot that blew him away, the golf legend decided it was time to bring the preparations for the event to a close.

“We’re done with it. That was fucking nasty,” he was caught saying in the video.
