TikTok’s newest viral star opens up about how her relationship disaster resonated with millions.
Reesa Teesa — the woman behind the 52-part hit series Who did I marry? which has garnered millions of views on TikTok — appeared on Good morning America on Monday to discuss the experience.
“In the end, I decided, ‘If you’re going to tell this story, tell the whole story,'” she said GMA. “I also really, really believe that the story will help someone.”
Reesa opened up about meeting her ex-husband – whom she calls Legion – and said he “was funny, personable” before eventually revealing he was what she called a “pathological liar”.
She said, “That was the guy that I really, after multiple conversations, was like, ‘Wow, you know, ‘Where have you been?’ ”
(On the other hand, her ex-husband appeared in a YouTube video refuting her account.)

The couple has a colossal castle wedding cake made to the tune of $16,000 — complete with lights and tiny Renaissance paintings
In the series, Reesa explains that the pandemic shutdown triggered a relationship, and Legion moved in with her. During this time, he positioned himself as a “service provider”, paying the bills at her house. “I have never experienced that in my life,” said Reesa.
The two got married in January 2021 after a miscarriage brought them together. By the end of that month, Reesa says she “knew I was in serious trouble.”
The TikToker says there were red flags during the relationship, but she ignored them for reasons that were her own. “Every ‘I love you’ was a lie. Every ‘I have you’ was a lie,” she said. “It does something to you mentally.”
She says she later learned that not only had he lied about his job and financial situation, but that he had a criminal past. “There was never an executive assistant. You were never in a meeting. You just didn’t take me to the hospital when I lost our child,” she said of his actions.
The Legion did not respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment. He, however, had his say in an interview on March 2 for Simply wavy on YouTube, refuting Reese’s claims. He claimed Reesa was the one who was unfaithful and said he was exploring his legal options because of the viral series.
After six months of marriage, the couple filed for divorce. Reesa said she was changed by the events as they unfolded. “I don’t really get excited anymore … I’m terrified of getting excited because I’ve gone through a whole year and some change of getting excited just to get it off,” she said, per GMA.
She added: “I still believe in love. I still believe in marriage. I… still want it.”
Reesa also revealed that she sought therapy to cope with the overwhelming ordeal. “It’s still a journey of healing and self-reflection and just loving myself so much more than going through that, or anything like that, ever again,” she said.
