- As a child, she often stuttered. She said in interviews that her stutter has only gone away since she started working in the theater.
- She was pursuing her MA in English Literature at Duke University before joining NYU when she successfully auditioned for Monsoon Wedding. In fact, she went to NYU with a letter of recommendation from filmmaker Meera Nair. After graduating from NYU, she found a job on the creative arts team and was assigned to work in domestic violence shelters and prisons. Although her experience working with prison inmates gave her a new perspective, after two and a half years she found herself eager to return to India and pursue an acting career. While Shore has been involved in several projects, including a collaboration between India and Australia, she also worked on the film Shanghai.
