For Timothée Chalamet, the making of 2022 Bones and all it came at an odd time given the specific controversy surrounding his former co-star Armie Hammer.
In an interview with GQ for the magazine’s November issue, held before the actors’ strike, Chalamet considered making a film dealing with cannibalism, while his Call me by your name Costar faced accusations of having BDSM and cannibalistic fantasies.
“I mean, what were the chances of us developing this thing?” He said Wonka actor, 27.
But when there were allegations that the film was being made because of the cannibalism claims against Hammer, 37, Chalamet said, “It made me feel like: Now I really i have to do this. Since this is actually based on a a book.”

A timeline of Armie Hammer’s recent controversies
Along with allegations of sexual assault and abuse (which he has denied), Hammer has been accused by exes of having cannibalistic fantasies, which are touched on in the documentaries House Čekić. (A representative for Hammer previously did not respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment on the allegations.)
Luca Guadagnino, who directed Hammer and Chalamet in 2017 Call me by your name and Chalamet inside Bones and all, said in August 2022 that the latter film had nothing to do with anything related to the Hammer controversies.
Deadline asked Guadagnino if he “anticipated” the eyebrow-raising reaction on social media when he announced the project. “It wasn’t clear to me. I realized it later when I started seeing some of these allusions on social networks,” the director (52) said in part.
That November Guadagnino told ua Diversity cover story that he “would love to do chapters two, three, and four of all my movies,” incl Call me by your name.
Asked if Hammer’s character, Oliver, would still be involved in a potential sequel, the director said Diversity“Yes of course.”

Timothée Chalamet wishes ‘Dune’ costar Zendaya a happy birthday
In his interview with GQ, Chalamet also reflected on his positive experience working on the upcoming epic sequel Dina: The second part with Zendaya, Austin Butler and Florence Pugh. (He also revealed that Zendaya’s boyfriend Tom Holland will be visiting the set.)
“It was so incredibly precious to spend so much time with Zendaya and her assistant, Darnell, and having Tom come on set as well,” he said. “They did level. they are good Hollywood. they are good energy Hollywood.”
“And then Austin and Florence. I feel like I’m creating for myself a community of people who care about the right things,” Chalamet added.
