Tina Knowles reflects on losing her “sacred happy place” after it was destroyed in the Palisades fire.
Knowles revealed on Instagram that her beloved Malibu beachfront bungalow was gutted in the fire that has been raging through Los Angeles since Tuesday, January 7.
The businesswoman – who is mum to Beyoncé and Solange Knowles – shared a serene video on the social media platform of her view from home on January 4, her 71st birthday. The clip shows a pod of dolphins swimming in clear blue water.
“I watched this on my birthday last weekend from my tiny bungalow on the water in Malibu! It was my favorite place, my refuge, my sacred Happy place. Now he’s gone!!” she captioned the post.

Knowles went on to thank the “brave men and women in our fire department” who battled the blaze and “who risked their lives in dangerous conditions.”
“Thank you for your dedication and courage and for saving so many lives,” she wrote. “This could have been much worse if it hadn’t been [sic] the dedication of disaster workers and first responders.”
She also expressed her condolences for the thousands of people who lost their homes in the multiple fires burning in Los Angeles, including the Eaton fire, the Palisades fire and the Hurst fire.

“To people who have lost their homes and possessions, I can only imagine how it feels to lose your possessions and everything you own! My heart and deep prayers go out to all of you ❤️,” she wrote. “I cannot imagine the pain, suffering and fear you are enduring.. I pray diligently for our beautiful city of Los Angeles!! However, we are resilient and we will recover! ‘This too shall pass’❤️”
The death toll from the fires remains unknown, Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna said at a press briefing on Thursday, January 9. As of Thursday morning, the Palisades Fire had burned 17,234 acres, with 0% containment.
Other celebrities who lost their homes in the fires include Billy Crystal, Anna Faris, Cobie Smulders and Taran Killam, Paris Hilton, Candy Spelling, Cameron Mathison, Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt, John Goodman, Ricki Lake, Cary Elwes, Anthony Hopkins and Eugene Levy.
