Morello and children
Morello was born in Nairobi, Kenya to influential teacher Mary Morello and former Kenyan diplomat Ng’etha Njoroga. The star was born into a powerful family with many members of the Kenyan government. His father abandoned him when he was 16 months old. He was raised by a single mother in a small town in Illinois.
In 2009, he married his wife Denise Luiso. He works as a music supervisor in Los Angeles, California. Rhoads and Roman are the two sons of this couple. The guitarist admitted that he named his sons after two of his idols, late guitarist Randy Rhoads and Los Angeles Rams winger Roman Gabriel.
Morello instills values in his children.
In an interview with Elaine Sir in November 2019, the musician talked about parenting skills and two sons. When asked about the three values he wants to pass on to his children, the Audioslave member said that they will be kind, fiercely protective of their enemies, and independent. In addition, he hoped that his sons would be kind and fierce in defending their enemies.
The big surprise about parenting, he says, is that children learn the values of their parents. He reminds the children that they are their own people and that parents should try to set an example for their children, not tell them what to do.
Morello’s Parenting Style
According to Morello, a successful child is one who has confidence and emotional security in the knowledge that he or she is loved and cared for. This is exactly what the singer intended. His whole life he did not have a father because his mother raised him. He stated that he would ensure that his history would not be repeated in the life of his son.
Morell’s key to raising his sons successfully, as he defines them, is being present and prioritizing them, even if that means giving up work and taking a break. He said that he never refused his child’s request to do something with him. His main motivation is to instill in his children the belief that they are the most important people in a musician’s life.
Morelo’s family
Morello admits to balancing parenthood and career. He reduces the number of trips so that he does not have to be far away from his children. Looking back at his own childhood, the male singer said he was lucky to have made decisions that allowed him to spend time with his children.
The singer revealed that he tends to spend a lot of time playing in an unstructured manner. He and his sons enjoy walking around the yard looking for five different types of leaves, hiking, and looking for tracks of coyotes. He also played baseball with them, as did the other kids and their parents.
Morello says that because of his sons’ differing heritage, he began teaching them about civil rights at an age he didn’t know was appropriate. Since the children are Kenyan and Italian and speak a little French, the actor believes it is important for them to understand the people who came before them. He focuses not only on the big achievements but also on the smaller ones, says his cousin Jomo Kenyatta, the Kenyan president who is also a pianist.
