Tony Danza shares sweet moment of reunion with his “forever TV daughter” and Who’s the boss? actress, Alyssa Milano.

On Monday, Sept. 23, the actor, 73, shared a photo on Instagram of him and Milano, 51, posing together after Danza’s sold-out musical performance of “Sinatra & Stories” at Café Carlyle in New York in September. 18.

“My forever TV daughter,” Danza captioned the photos, which show the TV father-daughter duo hugging and smiling. “I love you @milano_alyssa and thank you for being there for me.”

“Coming to see you at the @chicagomusical on Broadway!!!!!” Danza added, referring to the recently announced news that Milano will star as Roxie Hart on Broadway this fall Chicago. “I can’t wait!!”

Milano also shared her version of the photos on Instagram, writing in the description that Danza is “my forever TV dad.”

“I got to see him perform at the Café Carlyle last week,” she wrote. “He sang, played his uke and danced. And damn… I’m so blessed to witness the joy that pours out of him as he performs. I love you, T.”

The couple’s reunion comes just days after their 40th anniversary Who’s the boss?which premiered on September 20, 1984. The sitcom ran for eight seasons and followed Tony Micelli, a single father and former professional baseball player (Danza), who takes a job as a housekeeper to powerful advertising executive Angela Robinson Bower (Judith Light). .

Alyssa Milano reveals the inspiration behind 10-year-old Sam Who’s the boss? as Show celebrates 40th anniversary (exclusive)

Milano scored one of her first television roles on the show playing Tony’s daughter, Samantha, when she was 11 years old. The late Katherine Helmond also starred in the series.

At a recent press event ahead of her Broadway debut at ChicagoMilano spoke to PEOPLE about her time on the sitcom.

“Nobody else understands that experience but us,” she told PEOPLE. “It was a really special cast.”

“When you’re on the show for eight years, those formative years from 11 to 19 … what you saw on TV was our family unit,” Milano explained. “We were family and I love them very much and they will always have a very big place in the formation of who I am as a woman.”

Their co-star Danny Pintauro also recently spoke about his love for Who’s the boss for his 40th birthday, telling his Instagram followers that he declared that “September 20th, from today, Who’s the boss? Day.”

“So, happy Who’s the boss? Dan,” he added as the show’s theme song played in the background, smiling. “And happy 40th anniversary of the premiere of the first episode of our wonderful television show.”
