Tori Spelling Says Son Liam’s Foot Surgery Was a ‘Success’: ‘The Recovery Process Begins’

Tori Spelling shared how her oldest son is doing after surgery.

After posting a photo on Instagram of Liam Aaron McDermott, 16, lying in a hospital bed as he prepares for foot surgery on Wednesday, Beverly Hills, 90210 alum, 50, let her followers know that the surgery was “successful.”

She shared a photo of Liam and the doctor on her Instagram Story and added: “My boy did great.” Spelling identified the site of the procedure as Thousand Oaks Surgical Hospital and thanked his doctors.

The actress also revealed that Liam was visited by his pediatrician, whom she called “family”. In the next post, she shared a photo of Liam’s bandaged foot. “Now the recovery process begins. It will be a long road, but we are taking it day by day,” she wrote.

As for why Liam needed surgery, she wrote that “Liam fell down the stairs at home and has been in pain and immobile ever since.” The incident caused his “navicular accessory bone” to fracture. [the] right foot” to be removed and then the tendon “reattached to his main bone with a metal hook”.

She thanked those who checked on Liam and noted that it made him feel “so loved” and “meant a lot to him.”

Tori Spelling says being at Jingle Ball 2023 with her four kids is ‘everything’ after ‘challenging 2023.’

In addition to Liam, Spelling is also mom to Stella Doreen, 15, Hattie Margaret, 12, Finn Davey, 11, and Beau Dean, 6, who she shares with ex-husband Dean McDermott. Spelling previously revealed to PEOPLE that she is her child’s “biggest advocate.”

“You have to trust yourself as a parent because you’re going to be your kids’ biggest advocate. And that’s what I’m teaching my kids. I’m here for them now, but I want to teach them to be their own best advocate when they’re grown,” she told PEOPLE as she shared how raises children of different ages.

“We find out a lot sooner what makes them happy, what their interests are, and we don’t dismiss that anymore. We don’t say what suits everyone,” said Spelling. “Different kids need different things and different confidence boosters. So we have to take it one day at a time to get through it.”

She and her four younger children recently attended the 2023 Jingle Ball in Los Angeles. Sharing photos from the event on Instagram, Spelling said her “everything” is to spend time with her children “after the challenging year of 2023.”
