A BODY has been tragically found in the search for a missing woman who was last seen in a taxi – before her location services were “suddenly switched off”.
Lacey Lake was spotted in a gray Mercedes before she disappeared from Stonehouse in Plymouth at around 6pm last Friday.

In an update tonight, a spokesman for Devon and Cornwall Police described the death as “unexplained” but “not currently being treated as suspicious”.
Paramedics rushed to the scene in the north Plymouth area today, after being alerted to concerns for welfare.
But the woman’s body was pronounced dead soon after, police confirmed.
They said: “Police searching for a missing Plymouth woman located the woman’s body today, January 7.
“Officers were called at around 1.20pm following concerns for the welfare of a woman in Linton Close, Tamerton Foliot.”
“Paramedics attended but the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.”
“The death is being treated as unexplained although it is not currently believed to be suspicious.”
“The family of 24-year-old Lacey Lake who was reported missing on Monday, January 6th has been notified.”
“Official identification has yet to be carried out.”
In an earlier Facebook post, Morgan Hennessy Kelly pleaded for help to find Lacey, who was a type 1 diabetic and did not have insulin with her at the time of her disappearance.
She added that Lacey’s phone had been on since she disappeared, but no contact had been made.
Location services have since been turned off – and Lacey could now be “anywhere in Plymouth”, according to Morgan.
It is assumed that the 24-year-old woman was wearing the lower part of a man’s sweatpants at the time of her disappearance.
Devon and Cornwall Police have appealed for anyone with information to come forward quoting log 845 of January 6, 2025.
