TWO “violence-obsessed” teenagers gave a transgender girl pills with the intention of killing her just days before she was stabbed to death, a court heard.
Brianna Ghey was allegedly stabbed 28 times in Linear Park, Warrington by girl X and boy Y.

The 16-year-old transgender student was lured to the park by the teenagers, who were both 15 at the time of the murder.
Manchester Crown Court was told they shared chilling text messages leading up to Brianna’s death about Y’s crush on X’s friend, A.
But as the talks continued, they soon became “preoccupied with violence, torture and death,” prosecutor Deanna Heer KC said.
The teenagers allegedly “encouraged each other to think about how they would actually commit the murder.”
This included how they “planned together to kill Brianna in the same way she was actually killed”, jurors heard.
The couple also discussed the murder of child M, whom the accused feared was getting too close to him.
Y said, “You seem to be perfectly fine with me killing him”. X replied, “etc [I don’t care] if you kill him. And I can do my best to help you.”
X also reportedly discussed how she had “a really sharp blade, the same one that Sweeney Todd uses.”
The court heard she added: “If we kill M, can I keep some things, a couple of teeth and an eye.
“Idk [I don’t know] so that I would still cut out the eye and pull out the teeth. And torture before killing”.
She also reportedly sent Yu a video that referred to the murder, saying that she “loves[d] watching videos of torture”.
Jurors heard X also sent messages about Brianna and said she was “obsessed” with the teenager but had no feelings for them.
She later allegedly texted Y about plotting to kill Brianna with medication, the prosecutor said.
X texted him 19 days before the student was killed, telling him she had given Brianna away [painkillers] that “should have been enough to kill her.”
Ms Heer said: “Up to this point in the chronology, although the defendants have spoken to each other about wanting to torture or kill, there is no evidence that they have actually followed through on their words.
“However, when Girl X told Boy Y that she had given Brianna an overdose of pills, it appears that she was not making it up.
“Brianna was indeed on vacation on January 18th as Girl X said, but she was back home by January 23rd. Her mother, Esther Ghey, recalls an occasion during that week when Brianna was ill.
“He remembers that Brianna was in a lot of pain and thought she was going to die.”
X and Y made a list of four people they wanted to kill apart from Brianna, jurors heard.
The court was told they first suggested targeting the teenager, called E, with Y saying he had searched the internet for rope to make it look like suicide.
X then allegedly told him: “No, just stab him. Cut his throat and pierce his back”.
She later added, “If we can’t get boy E tomorrow, we can kill Brianna.”
Jurors heard that Y agreed to the plan, saying he wanted to see “whether he would scream like a man or a girl”.
The prosecutor said that X then told him: “Let’s stab her. The original plan of the boy E. Back and throat”.
The horror unfolded on February 11 this year on a “bleak winter’s day” at Culcheth Linear Park, Ms Heer said.
Kathyrn Vize and her husband Andrew were walking their dogs on the trail when they spotted a man and a woman on the trail ahead of them.
The court was told Mr Vize noticed the male ducking down “as if he was taking care of the dog” before running off with his female companion.
They then discovered that the man was actually bending over “the bloodied body of a young woman lying face down in the mud.”
Paramedics were rushed to the scene but unfortunately Brianna could not be saved and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Jurors were told the catalog of horrific injuries she suffered – including catastrophic blood loss when she was stabbed in the back and chest.
X and Y also allegedly penetrated Brianna’s throat and lungs with a blade.
One stab wound reached a terrifying depth of 11 cm and sliced through the teenager’s heart.
The court was told that “many” stabs had damaged Brianna’s bones and would have required “considerable force”.
Ms Heer said there was “no doubt she was the victim of a prolonged and violent attack”.
She added: “It is not in dispute that a man and a woman were seen running away from Brianna’s body by these two defendants, X and Y. Nor is it in dispute that in the days and weeks leading up to that day they discussed her murder.
“Indeed, it is accepted that Brianna Ghey was killed with a knife belonging to Y, a knife which X said he would have with him that day and which was sharp enough to kill her.
“But each defendant denies that they are guilty of murder. Each denies any involvement in her murder. Each blames the other.
“The prosecution contends that whoever delivered the fatal blows, both defendants are equally guilty. Acting together, they planned and executed their plan to kill her.”
X and Y, who cannot legally be named, both deny murder.
The trial continues.
