Travis and Jason Kelce Say They Lived Like ‘Filthy Animals’ as College Students in Cincinnati

Travis and Jason Kelce reminisce about their college years.

On Wednesday, the NFL stars and the brothers talked The Athletictalk about their time as teammates and roommates at the University of Cincinnati in their podcast New heights with Jason and Travis Kelce Presented by Wave Sports + Entertainment.

“How much fun and entertainment we had,” 36-year-old Jason recalled. “Those were – I mean, it can’t get much better than when we were in that household for sure.”

Jason and Travis, who entered college in 2006 and 2008, respectively, shared a house with their teammates while attending classes and playing for the University of Cincinnati Bearcats.

The pair went on to “corroborate” their college stories, including one about Jason drilling a hole in the wall of a house and accidentally yanking the sink out of his first college house during his freshman year.

Travis also recalled when Jason “made a bottle of water with Jameson” on St. Patrick’s Day and “drank it during spring training.”

“Of course we’re annoyed by Jason trying to ‘hydrate’ us and giving us a bottle of Jameson,” Travis said with a laugh.

They also discussed the state of the house and how they had an outside garbage can in the middle of the living room piled high with pizza boxes, beer and unlidded leftovers that “stank up the whole place.” Travis noted that “it was just what we needed because we were a bunch of dirty animals.”

“It was a dirty but fucking fun house, man. Endless memories,” Travis added, before sharing that their teammate Evan Davis had to patch up “all the walls” and “redo” some floors, doors and windows by the time they left the house.

Travis then asked if there were any stories that weren’t shared in the article, to which Jason explained that there was one where a roommate decided to move their entire living room onto the front lawn of their college house.

“Man, [Derek] Wolfe just decided to become a furniture mover at some point, and then he decided to start hitting people on Craig Parmenter’s mattress… I don’t think I’ve ever laughed more,” Jason recalled.

“You didn’t,” Travis added. “I’m out because you’re a f—— Zach [Collaros] were in tears, to the point that you couldn’t breathe. I was like the old man, if they laugh any more, they’re going to fucking explode.”

Travis said he “wishes” they had more stories, but they were “pretty fucked up all the time” in college, before moving on to the next segment on the podcast.
