Travis Kelce Responds to Rob Gronkowski Discussing Playing with Him and Jokes Being on Same Team ‘Would Be Unfair!’

Travis Kelce thinks he and Rob Gronkowski would be also strong together.

The Kansas City Chiefs player, 35, shared his thoughts on what a team with him and Gronkowski, 35, would look like after the retired New England Patriots player proposed the idea on his Dudes on dudes podcast this week.

“I think we’d be perfect if we were both on the same team,” Gronkowski told former teammate Julian Edelman on the podcast.

He went on to explain that he feels they “kind of clash” with their playing styles because Kelce can “line up anywhere” and can “move to any spot on the court at any time,” while he’s “too big for movement.”

“We would compliment each other incredibly and I would say we would be one of the best duos if we played with each other,” Gronkowski said. “We would break records.”

Shortly after the clip was posted on social media, Kelce responded by noting that the idea would be “unfair” to other teams because of the way they played.

“Friends… The same team!?!? It would be unfair!!” he wrote on X. “Just pictured myself lateraling the ball downfield to @RobGronkowski.”

This is not the first time that Gronkowski has floated the idea that two professional football players could play on the same team. He previously shared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Falloin January that the two would be “impressive” on the field together.

“Imagine that we are teammates on the field, also in the same team. Oh man, that would be pretty impressive,” he told host Fallon at the time, before discussing how those football skills could translate into dancing skills.

“I mean, we’re great dance partners,” the former NFL star continued. “We would dominate like a dance floor.”

Gronkowski, who has crushed several NFL players himself, was also no stranger to giving Kelce his flowers. On the same show, the New England Patriots legend called Kelce a “beast” on the field.

“Travis and Patrick have just been putting on shows for the NFL week in and week out,” he said. “There’s no doubt about it, but there’s one record that I’m proud to hold to this day, and that’s the single-season record for most touchdowns by a tight end.”

“So if he breaks it, I will be very angry. But he has broken every other record so far,” he added at the time.
