Trick Daddy was born on September 27, 1974 in the Miami area of Florida. He was raised by his mother, Pearl Brockington, along with his ten siblings. His childhood with his father Charles Young took an unfortunate turn in his life, when he and his grandfather went drug dealing on the local streets.
This resulted in him being arrested at the age of fifteen for drug trafficking and gun possession. He was arrested the next day after being released on charges of attempted murder. In 1994, his brother was shot and killed. Fortunately, Ted Lucas introduced him to the world of rap after being released from prison.

Career
The trick was revealed in the soundtrack of 2 Live Crew member Luther’s hit song “Luke” Campbell, “Scarred”. The success of the song created an important turning point in his life, and soon he was approached by several producers with many projects. Since then, Ted Lucas has signed him to Slip-n-Slide Records, where he released his first album, “Based on a True Story,” in 1997 under the stage name Trick Daddy Dollars.
Trick continued his great success with his second album, www.thug.com, in 1998. In that year, he also dropped the “Dollar” suffix and became known as Trick Daddy. With “Nann Nigga”, he also peaked at number three on the Billboard charts. In 2000, Trick signed with Atlantic Records to release “Book of Thugs: Chapter AK Verse 47.”
His next performance, “Shut Up”, was also hailed as “the club’s biggest hit ever”, and he rose to fame once again with his solo, “America”. Trick is internationally known for his songs “Thugs Are Us” in 2001 and “Thug Holiday” in 2002. In 2004, he released “Thug Matrimony: Married To The Streets” featuring Lil Jon’s “Let’s Go”. His appearance on the show “What’s Happening!” Ying Yang Twins pulled him to the top of many charts.
