PGI-D Report 2023: The Department of Schools and Literacy (DoSE&L), Department of Education on Sunday released the Performance Ranking Index for Districts (PGI-D), a consolidated report for the year. 2020-21. and 2021-22. July 9, 2023 This report evaluates the performance of the school education system at the district level by creating an index for comprehensive analysis.
The district’s performance is assessed in the Ati Uttam category, the third best category of PGI-D. No district was included in the two highest scoring categories: Daksh and Utkarsh. According to media reports, Punjab has 18 districts in the 2021-2022 Ati-Uttam category. overtakes Rajasthan with the number of counties in this category reduced to five from 26 in 2020-21. Punjab also has one less district in this category compared to 2020-21.

PGI-D Directory/District Results Table
According to the official press release, the structure of PGI-D includes a total weight of 600 points across 83 indicators, grouped into the six categories listed below:

Trivandrum, Kollam Best performing districts in school education for 2020-21
According to media reports, Kerala’s Kollam and Trivandrum districts emerged as the best performing districts in the school education system during 2020-21, followed by Kannur and Thrissur. According to media updates, the PGI-D report ranked 742 counties for 2020-21. and 748 counties for 2021-22. in all states and UT. PGI-D ranks school districts in the 10 highest possible Daksh scores, for districts that score more than 90% of the total score in that category or overall.
