The TV and radio presenter – who works alongside Jeremy Kyle and Mike Graham on the Talk – told fans: “Thank you to everyone who has reached out about my health.
“A bit of drama yesterday at the general practitioner where I collapsed and they brought me to emergency medical care by ambulance; many tests, drips, etc.
“The doctors told me to rest for a week, so hopefully I’ll be back on the air on Wednesday the 29th.
“Colleagues from the NHS and @TalkTV were brilliant.”
He struggled to diagnose his mysterious illness that went down badly over Christmas.
Peter said last week: “Physically I haven’t felt well enough since Christmas and I’ve been struggling in a very silly/’I’m not sick’ way.
“I’ve been hit by a wall of flu-like symptoms today. I won’t be broadcasting again until at least Tuesday, to rest and recover. (Mental health is good).”
Four days later, he collapsed during an appointment with a doctor.
After a short stay in hospital, Peter was discharged after a series of tests and is now recovering.
He shared a picture of him at home, together with his cat again.

“Thanks for all the good wishes,” said Peter.
“On the sofa with my best friend Jack and recovering, I think.
“Plan to return to @TalkTV in a week.”
Peter is a former government special adviser turned television journalist.
He worked under two successive Prime Ministers as Special Adviser to two Northern Ireland Ministers, the Home Secretary, the Minister for Housing and then the Lord Chancellor and Minister for Justice, providing tactical and strategic advice, crisis management and media handling.
He now presents on the Talk network on Fridays from 4 to 7 p.m. and on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
