Fans of the author Stephanie Meyer Twilight saga can prepare to return to the sleepy town of Forks, Washington. On September 4, Diversity reported that Meyer’s The midnight sun the novel will be adapted into an animated series for Netflix.
The publisher previously confirmed in April 2023 that the project was in early development with Lionsgate Television, and Michael Burns, vice president of Lionsgate, announced that the series would be animated in March 2024.

The midnight sunpublished in 2020, follows the story of Meyer’s first novel from the beloved book series, Twilighttold from the perspective of Edward Cullen.
The saga follows a teenage girl, Bella, who falls in love with her classmate and vampire, Edward. Heartbreak and carnage ensue as she falls deeper into a fantasy vampire world where vampires shimmer in the daylight and fight werewolves (and each other).
After 12 years of retention, The midnight sun was finally released after an early draft was leaked online, according to Publishers Weekly.

“I hope this book will give my readers some anticipatory pleasure and, once it arrives, a chance to live in an imaginary world for a while,” Meyer wrote in a statement about the book’s release at the time. “I cannot express how much I appreciate the patience and support of my readers over the years it has taken to complete The midnight sun.”
In the first week of sales, The midnight sun sold over a million copies, reiterating how loyal fans have remained to Meyer’s books and the vampire universe. The series was translated into five films and Twilightthe 2008 film, grossed more than $393 million worldwide. Kristen Stewart (Bella Swan), Robert Pattinson (Edward Cullen) and Taylor Lautner (Jacob Black) were among the stars of the film franchise.
Meyer previously announced that she intends to write two more books to add to her bestselling vampire series.

“I think there are two more books in the world that I want to write. I’ve outlined them and written a chapter, I mean the first one, so I know it’s there,” she said during a promotional event in August 2020, according to USA Today. “I’m not ready for that right now, I want to do something completely new”
“For me, a lot of the joy of writing comes from creating, and I really want to do a new world, new rules, and a new mythology,” she added. “Mythology is kind of my thing.”
