Lady Gaga Wins Joker: Folie à Deux Red Carpet at Venice Film Festival with Epic Headpiece — and Her Fiancé!

Lady Gaga has arrived.

The multihyphenate, 38, shut down the red carpet at the 2024 Venice Film Festival on September 4 for the film’s premiere Joker: Folie à Deuxin which she plays Harley Quinn.

At the Italian event, where she walked the red carpet with her co-star Joaquin Phoenix, director Todd Phillips and fiancé Michael Polansky, Gaga looked appropriately glamorous. She danced in a voluminous black dress with a deep neckline and a massive skirt. But the star of her outfit was her shimmering Philip Treacy lace headpiece.

The lacy piece covered Gaga’s eyes and came to two points on the top of her head for dramatic effect. The singer also accessorized with Tiffany & Co. jewelry. and her popular platform boots, which peeked out from under her dress when she lifted her skirt on the red carpet.

In the continuation of 2019 JokerGaga takes on the role of Harley, which has been played by a number of other actresses (albeit mostly voice-over), including Margot Robbie, Mia Sara, Kaley Cuoco and more. The “Bad Romance” singer, however, succeeds Joker: Folie à Deux Harley Quinn all her own.

“My version of Harley is mine and it’s very authentic to this movie and these characters, and I don’t want to give anything away from the movie,” she told Access to Hollywood on her red carpet Ball Gaga Chromatica screening and dance party on May 23. “I think it’s really something you have to experience in the theater.”

“This movie has music, it has dance, it has incredible acting,” she added. “I loved working with Joaquin, I loved working with him [director] Todd [Phillips]. What I will say is that I’ve never done anything like this movie before, so it’s all going to be brand new and really fun.”

Lady Gaga’s glam appearance in Venice follows her equally glam appearance in Paris at the 2024 Olympics in July, where she opened the Opening Ceremony with a performance of “Mon Truc en Plumes” in full cabaret attire of feathers and glitter.

She took to the stage by the River Seine wearing a full Dior Haute Couture look with a black feathered jacket over a black satin bustier and briefs. The pièce de résistance of the fashion moment was a black and pink skirt embroidered with feathers and sequins. She also wore a Dior headdress, gloves and shoes. Of course!

At the end of her performance, the Grammy winner ditched her skirt to reveal another look, with a Dior black satin bustier and briefs with a white feather pom pom, which paid homage to the cabaret atmosphere of the show.
