Uber Giving Out Free Month of Rides for Teens Who Fail Their Driver's Test

Uber offers parents a break from driving teenagers to their various activities.

Teens who have recently failed their driving test can sign up to get a free month of Uber rides through their Uber Teen Accounts, the company announced Thursday, Jan. 9.

Taking the driving test is an exciting time in the life of every young person. It often represents the freedom they will get to come and go when they want to see friends and travel to social events. However, there can be a lot of pressure with this test.

During the November election, both Uber and Lyft offered discounted rides to voters traveling to the polls. Uber said in a press release before Nov. 5 that access to transportation “should not be a barrier for any voting citizen.”

Drivers looking to take advantage of Uber’s Election Day discount during the 2024 election could find a “Go Vote” button on the app’s home screen. They were asked to enter their home address which allowed the app to locate their nearest polling station. Voters could then request transportation to that location, and it was added as a destination.

Uber’s Election Day offer began at 4 a.m. and ended at 11:59 p.m., the user’s local time. Additionally, on Election Day, Uber placed a special logo wrapped in an American flag on all UberX icons to remind citizens to vote and offered 25% off UberEats orders on election night.

*A month of free rides. 6 rides, $20 max per ride. Terms and conditions apply. Expires earlier than 31.3.2025. or until all offers are used.
