Ujjwala Raut started her modeling career at the age of 17 when she participated in the Miss India 1996 pageant and won the title of ‘Female Style of the Year.’ Ujjwala was interested in modeling since her childhood and so the 17-year-old student started attending auditions.
In 1996, Ujjawala Raut participated in the Elite Model Look Contest, an annual fashion modeling event organized by the international model management group Elite Model Management. The purpose of the contest is to discover and promote female fashion models for the international fashion market. Ujjawala made it to the top 15 contestants of the contest. The contest was a life-changing experience for her. She was signed as a model by many international brands.
