Unconditional love: Loyal dog leaves mother after saving her life

Without a doubt, dogs are the most loyal creatures on Earth. And that unconditional love and devotion is evidenced once again by this photo that recently conquered the Internet – a service dog that refuses to leave his mother’s hospital room.

But this special relationship began when Shauna Darcy decided that a dog would help her through her never-ending battle with anxiety. And she’s not wrong at all. Because for Ruby it is love at first sight. And the adorable puppy turned out to be more than just a service dog. Incidentally, when Shauna got Ruby, she made another friend. A real hero.

Shauna told Dodo: “While she was training to be a service dog, I noticed that she started noticing changes in my heart rate and acting very funny. “For example, hit me with your foot, try to get my attention, climb on me [and other stuff like that].”

In other words, Ruby is like a guardian angel for Shauna. She’s there for her adoptive mother, all the time. And her daily routine includes monitoring Shauna’s blood pressure and heart rate, as she also has a rare heart condition called vascular Ehlers-Danlos syndrome. What’s more, this special helps her human companion while she panics, carries groceries, or picks up dropped items.

When I lost consciousness, it climbed on top of me and pressed on top of me with all its might, licking my hands and face until I woke up,” the young woman recounted.

A few days ago, Ruby saved her mother’s life. She begins to warn Shauna that something is wrong. And even though the young woman felt fine, she decided to trust Ruby’s instincts and call 911. “It turned out my heart was having atrial fibrillation,” she said. “When the paramedics arrived, I was already in pain and was barely conscious.”

Thanks to her loyal and special dog, Shauna was able to breathe again. But Ruby’s loyalty doesn’t stop her. She refused to leave her mother while she was in the hospital. Shauna is sure that it was her special relationship with Ruby that saved her life. “I wouldn’t be able to live without her,” she said.
