Universal Releases Photos and Details of New Epic Universe Park — Including Harry Potter, Nintendo Lands

Universal Orlando Resort reveals new images of its highly anticipated theme park, Epic Universe!

In a press release Tuesday, the theme park announced that its game-changing park, which officially opens in 2025, will feature five “immersive worlds” for guests to explore.

At the center of it all will be Celestial Park — an otherworldly escape with “astronomical and mythological” architecture surrounded by lush gardens and waters. This land, which connects the other four, offers many activities to enjoy, including restaurants, retail and a comet-themed roller coaster.

Those four worlds are The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic, SUPER NINTENDO WORLD, How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk and The Dark Universe.

While few details have been released for the other worlds, the theme park states that the new addition to the Ministry of Magic will recreate a wizarding Paris of the 1920s that draws inspiration from Fantastic beasts fans of the British ministry will also recognize it from the original Harry Potter series.

Universal Orlando Resort already boasts a number of fan-favorite attractions from the original film series, including Hogwarts Castle, Diagon Alley, Hogsmeade and the Hogwarts Express.

Meanwhile, Dark Universe will draw inspiration from everything from “the experiments of Dr. Victoria Frankenstein to a shadowy landscape where monsters roam a world of myth and mystery,” according to the announcement. Universal has long attracted horror fans with its popular annual Halloween Horror Nights event.

In total, the park will offer more than 50 attractions, entertainment and dining options, and shopping experiences.

Universal Orlando Resort first teased the new theme park in August 2019 with a post on X (formerly Twitter) that read, “This is a big deal,” along with a promotional photo. A week later, he revealed the park’s official name and concept art at a press conference.

Epic Universe will be the fourth theme park to join Universal Studios (the original park), Islands of Adventure and Volcano Bay Water Park.
