Schools in Barabanki and LakhimpurKheri districts will remain closed today
UP School Holidays: Due to heavy rain and lightning, schools in Lucknow, Barabanki and Lakhimpur Kheri have also been ordered to remain closed today. According to available details, eight areas of tehsil in Lakhimpur Kheri experienced heavy downpours, due to which District Magistrate Mahendra Bahadur Singh ordered the closure of all schools, from pre-school to class 12, for today, September 12.
An official statement from the UP government said, “All schools from pre-primary to class 12th will remain closed today in view of bad weather conditions and IMD weather warning in Barabanki and #LakhimpurKheri district.”

Schools in Lucknow remain closed
The UP government has ordered authorities in Lucknow to close all schools today: 12 September 2023. All government, non-government, aided and private schools from pre-primary to class 12 are closed due to heavy rain forecast by India Meteorological Department.
Heavy rains are expected in Uttar Pradesh
According to the forecast, heavy rains are likely in eastern UP region till September 14, while light rains will continue till September 17, 2023. Western region of UP is likely to receive rain till September 17, 2023, relief officer The commissioner’s office said, adding that a lightning warning has been issued for the state until September 15, 2023.
Schools closed in Noida and Greater Noida
According to recent updates, District Inspector of Schools in Gautam Buddh Nagar has announced closure of all educational institutions in Noida and Greater Noida today in observance of Guru Dronacharya Mela. This decision was officially announced by Dharmveer Singh, District Inspector of Schools (DIOS).
