Urgent holiday warning after passenger is BANNED from flight over viral packing trick – don’t get caught out

HOLIDAYMAKERS have been warned after a passenger was banned from a flight – due to a viral packaging hack.

A trick that was praised on social media for its inventiveness turned out not to be such a smart move.

According to TikTok users, a packing ‘tip’ includes hiding your clothes in a pillowcase so you don’t have to pay for an extra carry-on bag.

It was held that a pillow does not count as baggage, since it is taken as a matter of comfort.

But a passenger using a ‘pillow hack’ was stopped by airport security – and officers called the police.

A chaotic scene appears to have unfolded at Orlando International Airport at Gate 17.

Companion Natasha posted the ordeal on Tiktok.

The video, shared on her platform @natashaorganic, has garnered hundreds of thousands of views and likes.

She said: “Stop letting social media give you tips and tricks because sometimes they won’t work.

“This guy was trying to take a pillow case full of clothes and other items that he claims was just a pillow case, and the guy was like bro, everybody can see it’s not a fucking pillow, like come on.

“They gave him a chance to pay for it, he went all the way until they closed the door to be fine, now I’m going to pay for it, and then he tried to get on the fucking plane like Bogart.

“They were like brothers, they backed off, we gave you a chance and you didn’t pay for it, and in the end they called the police to catch him.

“And he ended up getting an escort, so stop listening to the internet.”

Shocked viewers wrote their thoughts in the comments.

One wrote: “The airport is the only place I make sure I’m a model citizen. Aren’t people afraid of criminal offenses and no-fly lists?”

“I’ll fight anyone anywhere anytime, but never in an airport. Getting off the ‘no fly list’ is worse than bad credit,” added another.

Someone else shared: “Do you know airport employees have TikTok? They watch the same videos.”

This comes at a time when tourists are also being warned about the theft of their personal information on social media.

A recent study by consumer watchdog Which? discovered that airline customers were targeted by fake social media accounts on X (formerly Twitter).

Meanwhile, Heathrow previously blamed the TikTok craze for the chaos seen at the airport.

The airport’s chief executive, John Holland-Kaye, said pretending to need a wheelchair had been branded a “travel hack” on the social media site, for people hoping to skip the queue.

Plus, how one frustrated passenger went viral after hilariously trying to beat easyJet’s hand luggage rules.

The man went to great lengths to avoid checked baggage fees and was determined to show that his bag was the correct size for the cabin.
