US Student Visas: The United States issued a record number of visas to Indian students this summer. According to US Embassy officials, over 90,000 student visas were issued this summer in June, July and August 2023, which means that almost one in four student visas were issued in India this summer, totaling 30% of student visas issued worldwide.

Indian students continue to choose the United States as the main destination for their higher education. In the last year alone, there were twice as many Indian applicants compared to those from any other major country. Officials noted that the US Mission in India is prepared for an overwhelming number of applicants, and to successfully respond to the additional demand, the embassy has dedicated half of its slots to student visa applicants, ensuring that qualified students reach their program on time.
