Usher kicks off New York Fashion Week in style.
The singer, 45, was one of the many stars who stepped out for Ralph Lauren’s NYFW kick-off in the Hamptons, NY on Thursday, September 5. Wearing a sleek monochrome ensemble, the star embraced a casual yet elegant vibe in keeping with the picturesque locale.
The Grammy winner wore a buttery yellow long sleeve top with a pair of matching tailored trousers. He completed the look with a gold chain necklace, a pair of patent brown loafers and black aviator sunglasses.
When PEOPLE asked him how he felt about the color of the moment, the singer graciously replied, “Like butter baby, so smooth.”

In August, the “OMG” singer kicked off his highly anticipated Past Present Future Tour with two sold-out shows at Capital One Arena in Washington, DC on Tuesday, August 20th and Wednesday, August 21st. He previously announced that he was postponing the first three shows due to a neck injury he sustained during rehearsals.
“I was hoping that with physical therapy and treatment I would be able to overcome the injury and be ready for the premiere,” Usher explained in a statement on August 15. Unfortunately, the injury has not yet healed and the doctors have instructed me not to perform any shows this week.
The singer is scheduled to perform at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY from September 6-10.
He also promoted his concert film Meeting which is shown from September 12 to 15.
“I need asses on the seats,” Usher joked.
