Usher Kicks Off Tour in Washington D.C. After Delay Due to Neck Injury

Usher is finally going on the road after a short delay!

The R&B legend, 45, kicked off his highly anticipated Past Present Future Tour with two sold-out shows at Capital One Arena in Washington, DC on Tuesday, August 20 and Wednesday, August 21.

Earlier this month, Usher said he would postpone the first three shows of his highly anticipated tour due to a neck injury he suffered during rehearsals. Usher has announced that he will postpone the first date in Atlanta, August 14th. The next day he said he had to postpone two more performances.

“I was hoping that with physical therapy and treatment, I would be able to overcome the injury and be ready for the premiere,” he explained in his statement on August 15. Unfortunately, the injury has not yet healed and the doctors have instructed me not to perform any shows this week.

The previous dates have already been moved to December 9, December 10 and December 12.
