Utah Rancher, 21, Still Missing After Vanishing While Walking to Work Over a Month Ago: 'So Many Unknowns' 

A 21-year-old Utah woman has not been seen since she was reported missing more than a month ago after she vanished while on her way to work at a remote ranch.

Elizibeth Green was reported missing to the Juab County Sheriff’s Office on April 17, 2024. A press release shared by the Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Green is from Callao, UT, and was last seen wearing a pink and light blue tie-up hoodie. jeans and black Converse sneakers. She was carrying a white backpack.

Green’s mother, Vanessa Simmons, told local CBS affiliate KUTV about her missing daughter, “Unfortunately, there are so many unknowns.”

Simmons said her daughter was last seen heading to a nearby ranch in the remote Callao area where she was starting a new job.

“I’m kind of at the point where I think maybe she let somebody pick her up,” Simmons said, according to the media release. “I just don’t know who it is, or if they really picked her up, or if they didn’t come and then she left trying to walk through the desert.”

The Juab County Sheriff’s Office did not immediately respond when PEOPLE contacted them.

According to a search warrant filed by the Juab County Sheriff’s Office to access Green’s devices and social media accounts, the Juab County Search and Rescue team began the search on April 18, according to KUTV.

The area the team sought “is approximately three hours away from any major city and requires travel on dirt roads,” the outlet reports.

“SAR searched the area between her home and the ranch where she intended to work. They also searched the area on the grid. They were unable to locate Elizibeth or anything that could determine where she might have gone,” the warrant said, according to the outlet.

The warrant also states that police searched the ranch where Green allegedly went to work, but the rancher claimed that she “did not arrive at the ranch that day and he had no contact with her.”

“Deputies searched his ranch and did not locate anything suspicious,” the warrant continued.

“Based on the information we have received, we are concerned about the possibility that Elizibeth is at risk of serious bodily injury or death,” the document added.

“It is unknown if Elizibeth is in danger and lost in the vast desert, or if someone she communicated with has encountered her and is holding her against her will,” it said.

Those close to Green reportedly told investigators that she had mental health issues and had run away before, but would usually return after making contact with family members after a day or two, KUTV reports.
