In January 2022, Utsav Sarkar’s drama Two of Us, in which he plays Nikhil, premiered on YouTube.

In December 2021, Utsav appeared in the Hindi short film My Last Vlog on YouTube, playing the role of Nawab Malik, for which he was also the director, producer, writer and editor.
In June 2022, Utsav starred in the Bollywood movie “Janhit Mein Jaari”, playing Bunty in the film and serving as the associate screenwriter of the film.

In February 2021, Utsav Sarkar appeared in the web series “The Lineup” on YouTube, in which he played the role of Shayantan Roy, a struggling poet. He is also a writer on the series. In an interview, Utsav talked about his role in the web series “The Lineup” and said:
Shayantan is an aspiring poet who wants fame and all that comes with it, but is forced to work a 9-to-5 job to support his family. He is an eccentric person who keeps things in his heart and speaks only in poetry. My take on him is that the things we are most passionate about may not always provide us with a livelihood, and sometimes we have to make do with a job we don’t enjoy. However, Shayantan’s struggle is harder than mine because I’m lucky enough to make a living doing what I love. He doesn’t have the freedom to do that, and that’s his anxiety. ”

After graduation, Utsav worked as a screenwriter in various production houses in Mumbai. In December 2019, Utsav started working as an associate writer at Happi Digital in Mumbai and worked there for three months. In February 2020, he joined Prakash Jha Productions Private Limited in Mumbai as an assistant writer and worked there for about four months. Later, he joined BuddyBits in Mumbai, where he worked as a creative producer and writer. In December 2020, he worked as an Accredited Writer at Third Bell Productionz, Mumbai.

“I wasn’t cast in a play that I wanted so much. I struggled and prepared for months, but it just didn’t click with me. It was hard for me to accept. Self-doubt started to creep in. To cope with the situation, I Started writing. Plays, screenplays, anything that came to mind. At that time, I was just trying to feel better about myself. A short film I wrote during this time was bought by a company for a handsome sum. It was from here that I Luck looked up and smiled. In a way, I started getting into screenwriting because of rejection.”
