Gupte has acted in 50 plays. She started her career in 1970 with the Marathi all-female drama “Padmashree Dhundiraj”. Later she acted in many dramas like “Madanbaadhaa”, “Gaganbhedi”, “Jhunja”, “Char Diwas Premache” etc. Later, she appeared in a Hindi drama titled “Char Din Pyaar Ke”. Her Marathi play “Haravlelya Pattyancha Banglaa” received huge applause from the audience.
