First Becks, now Posh! That’s right – a documentary about Victoria Beckham is in the works.
On Wednesday, August 21, Netflix announced the production of a series that will follow the pop star-turned-designer’s fashion and cosmetics business, as well as her family life.
“Through an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at Victoria’s business, access to Victoria, her family, those closest to her and her fashion journey, and including never-before-seen archives, the series will tell the story of Victoria’s reinvention as a creative director of her own brand,” the statement reads.
Nicola Howson nominated for an Emmy (Beckham; 99; Save our squad; Ronnie O’Sullivan: Edge of Everything) and Julia Nottingham nominated for the BAFTA Award (Pamela: A Love Story; The biggest night in pop) serve as executive producers. The series will be supported by Studio 99 and Dorothy St Pictures.

The upcoming project follows a similar style from 2023Beckhama four-part documentary series about Victoria’s husband, soccer star David Beckham.

“Following husband David Beckham’s documentary series chronicling his rise to fame as a successful soccer player and pop culture icon, the upcoming doc promises to get up close and personal with the former pop star as she balances her business and family life,” the article reads.
Victoria, 50, achieved success in the 1990s as one of the five members of the British pop group Spice Girls. After the breakup of the band in the early 2000s, the star launched the eponymous fashion line in 2008 and the cosmetics line Victoria Beckham Beauty in 2019.

She and David, 49, married in 1999 and have four children together. In an interview from January 2024. Financial TimesVictoria said the experience of filming Beckham alongside her husband was “quite liberating”.

“I was very aware that usually when I shoot, I would be in control,” said the designer. “But this was pretty much about David, so I took the approach of, ‘I’m just going to be very easy here.'”
“People show up and say, ‘We like the documentary,'” she added. “Let me tell you… They were afraid to approach before.”
Victoria emerged as her own breakout star from the doc, sparking memes as the series garnered millions of viewers.
One of those memes even inspired a T-shirt that read “My dad had a Rolls-Royce,” a nod to the pair’s banter.

The term specifically refers to Victoria’s confessional in the documentaries, in which she claims that she and David come from a “very working-class family” — only for David to interrupt her and jokingly demand that she tell the truth about her upbringing.
“Be honest. In which car did your father drive you to school?” – David asks in the video. Victoria dances around the answer before admitting that her father drove a Rolls-Royce in the 80s.
The scene went viral on social media as it showed the relatable side of the high-profile power couple.
