Vidyullekha Raman, also known as Vidyu Lekha Raman Suresh or Vidyu Raman, is a South Indian film actress, comedian and theatre artist, who is widely known for her good comedic talent.

Vidyullekha Raman was born on Monday, November 4, 1991 (29 years old in 2020) in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. She attended Vidya Mandir Senior Secondary School and M.CT.M Chidambaram Chettyar International School in Chennai. According to Vidyu, she was an introvert during her school days; however, she gradually turned into an extrovert; also, she was not good at mathematics, but she worked hard to build confidence in the subject. She was also the cultural secretary of the school and was in charge of extracurricular activities, due to which she developed a keen interest in drama. Later, she graduated from MOP Vaishnav College in Chennai with a degree in Visual Communication.

On Wednesday, August 26, 2020, she got engaged to Chennai-based entrepreneur and nutritionist Sanjay Watwani amid the coronavirus pandemic. The wedding took place in Chennai in the presence of family and close friends. Later, Vidyu shared a picture of her and Roka in traditional attires on social media and wrote:

According to Vidyullekha, her determination was not a result of self-hatred but a step towards self-care. In January 2020, Vidyu weighed a whopping 77 kg and by the end of June 2020, she had lost nearly 9 kg and weighed 68 kg. In an interview, speaking about this physical transformation, she said,
Lost over 20kg – from 86.5kg to 65.3kg. It was a long and winding road. Full of sweat and tears. When I look at the photo on the left, it’s unreal how I was. I allowed myself to become so unhealthy”

- According to reports, during her fitness regimen, she had to undergo gallstone surgery immediately in mid-January 2020 due to a stone in her gallbladder causing her physical discomfort. Unfortunately, due to a severe infection in the gallbladder, the gallbladder had to be completely removed. After the surgery, she recovered and started focusing on her fitness regimen again. In 2020, she followed naturopathy, Ayurveda, and yoga, but later, she switched to a ketogenic diet and started a low-carb diet.
- Vidyu’s body change has somewhat dampened her career as a comedian as many film producers threatened her that she would not be offered any roles in the comedy industry if she loses weight. According to her, this dictates the mentality that prevails in the industry. Talking about this in an interview, she said,
I’ve been told that if I lost weight, I wouldn’t be getting the roles I’m getting. It speaks to a culture where casting is based on looks rather than talent. When you hear that, it tends to create a sense of insecurity. I don’t know what the solution is, but I hope women continue to prove that talent is more important than size.”
- Although Vidyullekha has worked in various film industries, she feels that the Telugu film industry has provided her with more opportunities and recognized her talent more than any other film industry; and she is also believed to be more focused on the Telugu film industry.
- Vidyu Raman was travelling to Vienna with her friends in 2016 when she was robbed of her money and passport by muggers in the hotel lobby. Two strangers distracted her and snatched her bag, which contained money and passport. She later posted a series of events on social media.
So I was not allowed to view CCTV footage from a 5 star hotel, but the Austrian police saw it. I was distracted for a moment by a man who broke into the hotel. He asked me how to get to an address, and when I said I didn’t know, his friend rushed from behind and took it. Shocked. Hopefully the embassy can help. ”
