Vijay’s father Sama Yadav used to own a sweets shop in Deogaon, Azamgarh. Vijay often goes to the store to help. One day he met a teenage girl in a store. Initially, they became friends and soon began to develop feelings for each other. On July 10, 2016, Vijay and the teenage girl decided to run away from home. Vijay’s family came to know about the incident on July 25, 2016, when neighbors told them that the shutters of their sweet shop had been closed for several days. Since Vijay’s family was busy with his brother’s wedding, they thought Vijay was taking care of the shop. However, when they reached the store, they found Vijay missing. The girl’s family has lodged a complaint against Vijay at the Deogaon police station in Azamgarh under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act. Vijay was later arrested and sent to jail. However, the case was settled outside court with the involvement of the girl’s family.

Sanjeev Jeeva Shootout
On June 7, 2023, Sanjeev Jeeva, an Indian politician and close aide of gangster Mukhtar Ansari, was detained unidentified inside the Lucknow SC/ST Court. shot by the attacker. The attacker was dressed as a lawyer.
During the attack, two policemen; Kamlesh and a 6-year-old girl Lal Mohammad and an 18-month-old baby were also injured. Later, during the investigation, the local police discovered that one of the attackers was Vijay Yadav, who entered the court with Sanjeev. Vijay seized the opportunity, quickly took out the revolver hidden in his coat and shot Jiva from behind. Vijay’s attack was so precise that Jiva had no time to react and died immediately. After the attack, Vijay tried to flee the court, but lawyers present arrested him and began physically assaulting him. It took considerable efforts by the police to rescue Vijay from the violent situation. Vijay was taken into police custody immediately after the attack.

- On May 10, 2023, Vijay returned to his hometown from Mumbai to attend his cousin’s wedding. On May 11, 2023, he went to Lucknow in search of a job and called his father Samar Yadav to inform him that he had found a job in a water pipe installation company. Vijay says he will work in Lucknow. He has not contacted his family since then.
- After Vijay’s arrest in June 2023, his mother told the media that she received a call from Vijay on May 15 when she was at her parents’ house. Then, his cell phone was turned off. He has no criminal tendencies. The thought of such an incident is horrifying. She further said that he used to earn a lot in Mumbai. He would also send money home to pay his bills, but he had not sent a single rupee since he went to Lucknow.
