Virgin River star Alexandra Breckenridge reunites with co-star – and fans are saying the same thing

Virgin River star Alexandra Breckenridge touched fans’ hearts when she reunited with co-star Zibby Allen over the weekend.

Zibby joined actress Mel Monroe at her home in Georgia, where the couple made risotto chanterelle after Alexandra and her daughter picked mushrooms from her backyard.

Sharing a video on Instagram, Aleksandra explains how she discovered the fungus. “So my daughter and I were walking around our yard and I looked to my left and I saw a yellow spot and I was like, ‘Oh, I know exactly what that is’ because this time of year people eat bananas for chanterelle mushrooms and they feed them,” she said, along with a video showing the star and her friends making risotto.

Alexandra went on to explain that although she was hesitant to pick mushrooms at first for fear of accidentally picking poisonous ones, she did a lot of research before inviting her friends to help her cook a delicious rice dish.

“My friends got together to clean, peel and make a mushroom risotto. It was delicious,” she added, encouraging her followers to cook the recipe at home.

In a separate post, Alexandra shared a snap of the delicious chanterelle she made after the success of her risotto. “Next is the chanterelle!!! This is great too,” the 41-year-old wrote in the caption.

Fans were quick to comment on the post, with many suggesting that Alexandra and Ziggy would team up and host their own cooking show. One person wrote: “You and Zibby should definitely be on a cooking show. They’re always so much fun!!!” while another commented: “You and Zibby should do a cooking show!!”

The third wrote: “Looks good. Please have more cooking shows, you’re so good.”

Alexandra lives in Atlanta, Georgia with her husband Casey Hooper and two children Jack and Billie.

As for why the couple decided to move to Georgia from Los Angeles, Alexandra previously told the Atlanta Journal, “Rural Georgia has a great sense of community that we missed in LA.

“We want our kids to grow up in a place where they can play and ride bikes, not like a big city.”

While it’s clear Alexandra enjoys spending time with friends and family at home, one thing she won’t be doing is getting back on set. A virgin river anytime soon.

Production on the sixth season is currently on hold due to the current writers’ strike, which insiders are expected to end in the fall.

Annette O’Toole, who plays Hope McCrea on the hit Netflix series, has revealed that filming will begin as soon as the strike is resolved. Sharing a beautiful photo of roses in bloom on her Instagram page in May, the actress wrote: “Some roses to celebrate the good news: #VirginRiver season 5 will air in the fall and we’ll be filming season 6 as soon as the strike is over. #WGAStrong!”

In the meantime, fans can look forward to seeing the fifth season, which will premiere on Netflix in the fall.
