Virgin River star Martin Henderson has issued a heartfelt plea to his Instagram followers after the dunes devastated his community in New Zealand.
The actor, who lives on Auckland’s Great Barrier Island, explained that his community was “shaken” by the tragic accident involving two children and urged his followers to donate to their families.

In a heartbreaking post, Martin revealed that one child had unfortunately passed away, while the other was recovering in the hospital.
He wrote on Instagram: “I don’t usually ask people to donate, but the small island community where we live in New Zealand has been devastated by a recent horrific accident involving two young boys. Two wonderful boys we know.
“Unfortunately, one person’s funeral was held yesterday and we are all still deeply saddened and shocked, while still holding out hope for the other’s recovery. He is currently lying in bed. in the hospital and we pray that he’ll be back soon.”

He concluded the post by adding: “There are no words to adequately describe the immense pain and loss that families are going through, but every little thing that someone can… giving will help them get through this dark and terrible time.

Martin’s followers flocked to the comments section to share their well wishes, with one person writing: “So much love, my heart goes out to you and your community”, while Another added: “What a sad news. I hope all the best for you.” Riley and I wish him a speedy recovery.”
A third commented: “So sorry to hear this sad and tragic news! We will remember and pray for you all.”
This is not the first time Martin’s community has been affected by a tragic incident.

Back in February, Martin revealed that a tornado had hit, causing severe flooding and landslides on the North Island, resulting in the deaths of four people.

Sharing a map of the storm’s path as well as a video of the storm’s impact on the sea, the 48-year-old wrote on Instagram: “I’m not sure how much awareness is outside of New Zealand at the moment, but we do. We’ve just been hit by a fairly powerful tornado that has put the country in a state of emergency.”

Martin went on to say that while he and his family are “safe”, “their hearts go out to those who have lost their homes and properties.”
The star also apologized for withdrawing from a A virgin river signing autographs he should have attended with colleague Alexandra Breckenridge.
